Jay Ward

February 4, 1925 — January 1, 2019

J.W. Ward went peacefully to be with his Lord Jesus on the morning of January 1st, 2019.

He was born on February 4th, 1925 in San Antonio Texas to Laura and Clyde Ward. He was preceded In death by his wife of 48 years Anna L Ward, two brothers, Bill and Clyde, and one sister, Lela.

He is survived by two sisters, Lillian and Zora; his sons, Charles Ward, James Ward, Jerry Winslett and Brenda Wilson , and Bryan Slayton and Patty Slayton; also two daughters, Christina Cotton and Linda Jeanine Oschsner and Bill Oschsner, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

J. was a faithful member of the Trinity Baptist church in High Rolls, N. M. for more than 40 years where he taught the men's Sunday school class. He also served with Gideons International and worked at Sevils Baptist camp in the 1960s. J. was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps as a transport pilot. His love and wisdom will be missed greatly by friends and family.

His funeral service will Monday, January 7, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. in the Mountain View Assembly of God Church with Anthony Torres officiating with burial to follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
