Janke S. Pritchett

Janke S. Pritchett, a cherished soul who illuminated the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Born on December 6, 1934 in Amsterdam Holland, she graced this world for nearly 91 years, leaving behind a legacy filled with laughter, warmth, and countless beloved memories.

Those fortunate enough to experience Janke's vibrant spirit will forever remember her great sense of humor and innate kindness. She had an extraordinary gift for storytelling, often weaving tales that sparked joy and captivated the hearts of her listeners. Her laughter was infectious, a melody that echoed through family gatherings and friendly encounters alike, reminding all that life was to be celebrated.

Janke possessed strikingly beautiful blue eyes that mirrored her compassionate heart. Every gaze held a hint of mischief, a reflection of her witty personality that brought light to even the dullest days. She lived a life that can only be described as "well loved," with a circle of friends and family who cherished her deeply.

In addition to her impressive storytelling, her love for chocolate and licorice was well known among those who shared life with her. 

Janke is survived by her sons, Mike Pritchett (Debbie) of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Rick Pritchett (Valerie) of Arizona; grandchildren, Jerod Pritchett (Amber), and Jeremy Pritchett (Hannah); great grandchildren, Cooper, Bayler, Hunter, Parker, and Ellie Pritchett; niece, Tammy McCulley Woods (Mark); nephew, Johnny McCulley (Jeanie), and all of her Dutch and Texas nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years M.C. "Cleston" Pritchett; daughter, Kathy Osborne; and beloved twin sister, Mary McCulley.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the following:

Enhabit Hospice Care Nurses; Amber, Brittany, Paula, and Kara for their loving care in her final days. You are all compassionate, amazing professionals that helped lighten the stress and took great care of Janke. Sierra Blanca Pharmacy Staff; Thank you for your smiles, kindness, personal attention, and patience with Janke throughout the years. City Bank Employees for always answering her phone calls and being polite, respectful, and kind to Janke. Thank you to Fiona for being respectful, patient, kind, and always listening to Janke's stories. You are going to be a wonderful nurse.

As we celebrate Janke’s life, let us remember the laughter she shared and the warmth she brought into our lives. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to inspire us to embrace joy, tell our own stories, and savor every moment, just as she did. Janke S. Pritchett will remain a beloved memory in our hearts, her legacy echoing in the tales we pass down, reminding us of the power of kindness, humor, and love.
