James Leighton Kunestsis

James L. Kunestsis was born on November 1, 1969, in Mescalero, NM.

Passed away on April 18, 2026 in Mescalero, NM.

He is survived by his brother, Wadell Kanseah and sister, Anissa Kanseah.

Nieces, Valita Kanseah, Carla Rice and Jana Rice

Numerous grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by parents, Berle and Lynette Kanseah.

The funeral service will be held in the gym at the community center in Mescalero, NM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10 am.

Burial will be at our family plot in Whitetail and a dinner/potluck will take place at the community center in Mescalero after the burial.
