James Hiles

Visitation for James Richards Hiles Jr. of Tularosa will be Wednesday, July 16, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The prayer vigil will be Wednesday at 6:00 PM in St. Joseph's Mission at Mescalero where the funeral mass will be on Thursday, July 17, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Hiles Family Cemetery at Bent. Mr. Hiles passed away Saturday, July 12, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born January 19, 1968 at Mescalero and had lived in the Mescalero-Tularosa areas all of his life. He received an Associates degree in Ag Mechanics from New Mexico State University. He had worked at Cow Camp as a young man, was a heavy equipment operator and loved to ride horses. He married Naomi Kaydahzinne on February 6, 1007 in Alamogordo. Survivors include his wife, Naomi; children, Jessica Day Hiles and James Arthur Hiles; step-children, Max Duran Jr., Shana Duran and Faith Duran; his parents Melinda and James R. Hiles Sr.; brother, Patrick Hiles Sr.; three sisters, Eugenia Mendez, Tarena Valdez and Jodi Viesca, one grandson, three nephews, Claudio Viesca, Tarren Viesca, and Michael Viesca.
