James Neil Denson Jr. lost his battle with cancer on Friday, August 14, 2015 at home on his cannabis farm with his family present. He fought fiercely to the very end when his body succumbed to the horrible disease. He leaves behind two children, Maiya, age 11, and James, age 8, they were the light of his life and the reason he battled so bravely. Also surviving is his wife, of 18 years, Mandy; father, Jim; mother, Colleen; sister, Janeen Duane; and brother, Jaron Denson of Malibu, CA. James loved bow hunting and tagged numerous elk, deer and dove. James accomplished much in his life. He acquired an associate degree in underwater welding in Santa Barbara, CA, where he worked on deep sea oil rigs off the California coast. James later became a licensed contractor in New Mexico and Hawaii, building custom homes. Most recently he was the dreamer and founder behind Compassionate Distributors, Inc., a licensed medical cannabis producer and distributor for the state of New Mexico, opening in October, 2011. He helped countless ill patients manage and treat their conditions through cannabis instead of harmful pharmaceuticals. James was always willing to listen patiently and touched hundreds of lives with his thoughtfulness and concern for others. It seems those that are the most pure and loving suffer the greatest. Rest in peace dear James; you are greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Sixteen Springs Canyon Cemetery near Cloudcroft, close to his favorite hunting grounds. A light lunch reception will follow at the Sixteen Springs Fire Station. A future celebration of his life will also be held in Malibu. CA.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations at Pioneer Bank to the trust account set up for his children's education in the name of Maiya and James Denson.
