Irene Edmondson

EDMONDSON, IRENE MARIE - Irene Marie Edmondson, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019, in Alamogordo, NM.

A memorial service for Irene will be at 11:30 AM, Thursday, February 7, 2019 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, 341 Sudderth Dr., Ruidoso, NM. Burial will take place afterwards at Fort Stanton State Veterans Cemetery in Ruidoso.

Irene was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 18, 1939 to Anthony and Mary Cuellar. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Los Angeles in 1958, married Mike Neu in 1959, and with Mike, had three children. After Irene and Mike divorced in 1976, she met and married Harry Edmondson in May 1981. They lived in CA until relocating to Alto, NM approximately 18 years ago.

Irene loved her family, friends, neighbors, church, dogs (more like her fur babies), crafts, reading, Disney movies, etc. Everyone loved Irene and her open heart. She was a beautiful, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and kind soul.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Mary. She is survived by her husband, Harry; her son, Michael Neu and wife, Linda of Lake Elsinore, CA; her daughter, Yvonne Case and her fiancé Kevin of Cornelius, NC; her son, Steven Neu and wife, Dawn and two granddaughters, Kiley and Kaylin of Georgetown, TX; her grandson, Michael Hill and wife, Chelsea and three great grandchildren of Hesperia, CA; her granddaughter, Nicole Maggard and husband, Buck and two great grandchildren of Costa Mesa, CA; and her grandson, Kade Case of Asheville, NC.

Special thanks from Irene's family to the caregivers at the Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Center in Alamogordo, NM for the care and love they gave to Irene in the last months of her life.
