Glendon Cowen

February 6, 1941 — November 4, 2016

Glendon "Palidon" Cowen, 75, passed away at his home in Capitan, NM on November 4, 2016 after his battle with cancer. He was born on February 6, 1941 in Salt Gap, TX. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 7th at 11 am at the Ft. Stanton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider making a donation to Ft. Stanton Cemetery or Wounded Warriors Project in Glendon's name.

Glendon "Palidon" Cowen passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at his home in Capitan, NM after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Salt Gap, TX to Grace and Louis Cowen on February 6, 1941.
Palidon joined the Air Force in 1958 in which he gladly served his country for 5 years.

In 1983, he met and married Nan "Pete" Cowen. They spent many happy summers in the Ruidoso/Capitan area, permanently relocating to Capitan in 2001.
Palidon is survived by one son, Robert Cowen; one stepdaughter, Sandy Dawson; and three stepsons: Sam Cowen, John Cowen, and Sherrod Cowen. A numerous host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survives him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Grace Cowen, one son, Terrell Lynn Cowen, and two stepsons, Kenneth Cowen and Charles Ross Cowen.

The family would like to take the time to thank each and every person, neighbor, friend and family member that helped with Glendon during his battle with cancer. We would also like to especially thank E.W. Gunkel, his close neighbors: Ginny, Minerva, Richard, and Dee for all of their love, help and time spent with Glendon during his time spent facing this battle. Please know that Glendon loved and appreciated each and every one of you that ever helped him and spent time with him throughout the course of his life.

His absence from this life will be felt by many.
