George Parker Lester, Jr, age 60, of Mescalero passed away on November 1, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 8, 1964, to George Parker Lester, Sr. and Anita Louise Lester (Pesewonit) in Mescalero.
George is preceded in death his father and mother as well as sisters Annette Torres and Becky Lester, brother Joel Lester, and niece Nikki Torres.
George was a very private person. But to anyone that came across his path, they would say that he was far from that. He was a very kindhearted person who always put other peoples' needs before his own.
Growing up George participated in many sports like football, basketball, and baseball. He also came to love the sport of golf. He has many different hobbies like riding horses, traveling, getting wood, and hanging out with his friends and family.
George was survived by his sister Tammy Torres, nieces and nephews Michael Troy Torres, Jordan Torres Jr, Branson Lester, Tori Marden, Harlen Lester, Theodor Torres, Brittney Salazar, Tanis Torres, and Frank Lester. His grandchildren Tamree Marden, Nikki Torres, Davanae Marden, Demitrius Torres, Xzaylia Kaydahzinne, Miles Marden, Amarra Salazar, Amila Salazar, and Whisper Smith. George is also survived by aunts Sadie Comanche and Viloa Morgan as well as numerous friends and family.
A viewing will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso. Rosary recitation will be 6:00pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024, and St. Jospeh Apache Mission in Mescalero, NM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday November 8, 2024, 10:00am at St. Joseph Apache Mission in Mescalero. Interment will follow at White Tail Cemetery in Mescalero.
Pallbearers will be Michael Troy Torres, Jordan Torres Jr., Frank Lester, Christopher Marden, Eugene Evans, Christopher Peganse, Pablo Ramirez, Francis Lester, and Thurman Bob Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.
