Garrison Dolan

Garrison Lewis Dolan, was a brother, cousin, uncle, companion, father and friend.

Garrison was born to Fabian Dolan, Sr. and Elizabeth Kaydahzinne Dolan in Mescalero on June, 19th, 1960. He had eleven siblings, he is survived by his three sisters; Cheryl Ann Kayitah,  Anita  Dolan of Mescalero and Sylvia Zap of San Angelo, TX; his is survived by his four brothers; Fabian Dolan, Jr, Adrian Dolan, Patrick Dolan and Francis Dolan, all of Mescalero.

He is preceded in death by his sisters; Ilona Jean Dolan, Bernadine Dolan and Janel Dolan; he is also preceded in death by his brothers; Alvin Dolan and Gerald Dolan.

His paternal Grandparents were the late Victor Dolan and Lola Teo Dolan, his maternal Grandparents were the late Nelson Kaydahzinne and Fern Blake Kaydahzinne.

Garrison Lewis Dolan was 60 years old when he passed on February 22, 2021 at his home, here in Mescalero, NM.

Garrison is survived his daughter, Ilona Leigh Dolan and his step-daughter, Inez Mendez; his grandchildren, Martha Rae Elizabeth Shanta and Richard Torren Harrington, all of Mescalero.  He is also survived by his his Companion of 20 years, Nadena “Glo” Rice of Mescalero, whom he called his “Honey Bunch.”

Garrison was a Catholic, had faith in Jesus Christ and loved the Virgin Mary. He was baptized and was a member of St. Josephs's Mission.

Garrison lived and grew up in Mescalero, except for a few years that he attended school in Taos, New Mexico. Garrison was employed in various places in Mescalero; he was a firefighter with the BIA – Foresty, he was a lift operator at Ski Apache and worked various jobs at Inn of the Mountain Gods.

He was a big help to the family and to various people and families in the community. He was always called upon time after time, because he was dependable and efficient in the work he did.

He had many nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends whom he loved and acknowledged all the time. He was his very own unique person. He could be recognized by his laugh, and will be remembered for different things he said and done.

One recollection, when he was buzzed up drinking, he would get carried away with his rock music and always played his air drums and air guitar and was later given the name, “Gary and his one man band.”

A saying he always said, and will always remind us of him, “Dangabus!”
