Fernando Miranda

Born on July 17th, 1951 in Roswell, NM and went home to the Lord on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM.

His parents were Ralph and Oliva (Montoya) Miranda. He attended school and graduated from Hondo High School. He married Ima Jean Burgess with the Justice of Peace in February 1974, and then later in the Catholic Church in Capitan on June 21, 1974. Fernando worked for the Village of Ruidoso Water Department as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He later worked for Ruidoso Downs Race Track as Head of Maintenance.

He enjoyed hunting, trail riding, the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, making salsa, white sands, green chili, and frybread.

Fernando is survived by his three daughters, Michelle Miranda and significant other Paulpete Hale, Kansas Miranda and significant other Donald Mendez, Olivia Paiz and husband Jerry; eight grandchildren, Chon Miranda, Lauren Munoz and husband Ryan, Amanda Padilla, Kaitlyn Paiz, Benjamin Paiz, Savannah Mendez, Lilly Mendez, and Angelo Mendez; one great granddaughter, Carmen Rose Munoz; one godson, Ismael Miranda; four brothers, Felipe Miranda, Israel Miranda, Albert Chavez, Ralph Miranda, and one sister, Vestina Scott. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Fernando was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. The prayer service will be Monday, July 3, at St. Eleanor Catholic Church at 9:30 A.M. with the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at San Ysidro Cemetery near Ruidoso Downs.
