Ernestine Seay

April 5, 1931 — July 3, 2018

Earnestine was born April 5, 1931 to Earnest & Viola Taylor in Cheyenne, Oklahoma where she spent her childhood. The Taylors moved to Lefors, Texas for work in the 1940's where Earenst Taylor worked for the public schools. Earnestine graduated from Lefors High School May 28, 1950 and married the love her life (Harold H. Seay) that same afternoon.

Mr. Seay worked for Phillips 66 as a driller from WWII until he moved home to Roswell, NM. The Seay family moved all over the United States with the same crew for 12 years. The Seay's settled in Roswell in 1962- Harold bought Philips 66 Station on Main St. next to the old Coca Cola plant, owned a small trailer park behind the gas station, and two other gas stations and a detail shop. Earnestine worked side by side with him and raised the kids - in 1967 they bought a farm from Red Worley which was close to Mr. Seay's parents old farm close to Roswell Zoo.

Earnestine was a rural motor route carrier for the Roswell Daily Record for 20 years - all the farmers and ranchers in South Springs Acres, East Grand Plains where her best friends.

The Seay's retired in 1982 and built their dream home in Capitan, NM.

Earnestine was busy with Capitan High School activities as their son Sean went to Capitan High School.

Earnestine was drawn to Ft. Stanton Hospital for the Developmentally Disabled School where she worked for 10 years until the State closed the school- she loved the clients, teaching ceramics, art, and daily life.
Earnestine graduated from ENMU-Ruidoso branch in 2000 with an Associates Degree in Computer Science. She attended weekly art classes for many years with a Capitan group, she loved light classical music & George Strait music.

Harold H. Seay preceded her in death February 5 2014 and one son Ernie Seay November 11, 2000.

She is survived by 5 children, Roy Seay, Steve Seay, Sean Seay, Ginger Perini and Kathy Nichols and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her brother, Jay Taylor and sister, Mary Alderson.

Her funeral service will be Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Capitan and Earnestine will be buried with her husband at Ft. Stanton State Veteran's Cemetery.
