Ellen Blaney

Ellen "Buzz" Bizzell Blaney, 54, of Ruidoso Downs passed Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Albuquerque. She was born April 18, 1961 in Artesia, NM to Virginia and Delma Ray Bizzell.

Ellen lived in the Ruidoso area all of her life and graduated from Ruidoso High School. She retired from the Parks and Recreation Department for the Village of Ruidoso where she had many jobs over the years, but her passion and most enjoyable was teaching kids swimming lessons.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Blaney; mother, Virginia LaMay; sister, Claudia Woods and her husband Dave of Tularosa, brothers, Larry Bizzell and his wife, Carolene of Albuquerque, and Barry Bizzell and his wife Jackie of Mason, Texas; uncle and aunt, Don and Yvonne Brooks; cousins, Kinney and Kelly; nieces and nephews, Tai Amber Weber, Jason and Shannon Woods and their son Daymen, Leslea and Ben Harris and their son Cody; and her beloved cat, Dude.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, September 12, at 1:00 PM at the Ruidoso Community Center at Schoolhouse Park.

The family has requested memorials to Keep New Mexico Beautiful or the Lincoln County Humane Society.
