Derrick Smith

Derrick Marden Smith, 70, of Albuquerque passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in Albuquerque.  He was born April 24, 1949 at Mescalero.  He was a veteran of the Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Edna Antone; a son, Dominic Montoya Smith; his mother, Olivia Essary; sisters, LuAnne Ruiz, Cathy Ferrera, Carolyn Essary and Olivia Smith; brother, John Essary; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.  The rosary will be Thursday, November 21, at 6:00 P.M. in St. Joseph Mission in Mescalero where the funeral mass will be Friday, November 22, at 10:00 A.M.  Burial will follow at the Mescalero Cemetery.
