Deborah Torres

Deborah (Debbie) Torres, age 70, of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico, passed away on April 21, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. Debbie was born on September 22, 1955, in Grand Island, Nebraska to Dale and Delores (Koch) Hongsermeier.

Debbie graduated from Wood River Rural High School in 1973. She married Charlie Fallon in September of 1978. Together they raised four children, Bersalle, Chris, and Shane Fallon, and Brittany Morgan. They later divorced.

Debbie worked at various clerical positions in Grand Island prior to moving to Tucson, Arizona. After returning to Grand Island, Debbie spent time at home with the children during their younger years. Later she worked as an English and Second Language Teacher at CCC, and translator for Grand Island Public Schools.

Debbie met the love of her life, Jorge Torres, in 1993. Together they shared life in Grand Island; Guymon, Oklahoma; Roswell, New Mexico; Ruidoso Downs; and Gomez Palacio, Mexico. After sharing thirty years of life, Debbie and Jorge married on June 17, 2025 in Ruidoso Downs. Debbie loved her family and took joy in spending time with them. She was a crafter and gardener, enjoyed quilting, having a large garden, her pets, and watching the Hummingbirds.

Those left to remember Debbie are her husband, Jorge; sons, Bersalle, Chris Dale, and Shane Fallon; daughter, Brittany (Hunter) Morgan; stepdaughter, Ida Torres; grandchildren, Niella, Lenaia, Sean, Jackson, Gabby, Orlando, and Christian; step-grandchildren, Joaquin, Josh, and Hilario Torres; great-granddaugher, Xureila; step-great-grandchildren, Thobias and Avianah Gomez; brother, Tom (Terri) Hongsermeier; sister, Pat (John) Bell; and several nieces and nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shawn; and her parents and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm Monday, April 27, 2026, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. The family asks that memorial donations in Debbie's name be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
