David Smith Lewis

Davey was born on November 26th 1953 to David and Eileen (Smith) Lewis. He grew up in Capistrano Beach CA. where he learned to surf at a young age and also developed a lifelong love of dirt bike riding and snow skiing. Davey worked at Vohanns Pottery and Kenney's Hardware in Capistrano Beach before joining the Carpenters Union and becoming a Drywall Journeyman. Lewis later obtained his building contractors license and built his first house soon after. Davey had a zest for life and was known to yell out "hey yo mon" at passersby and friends while driving through town. Dave loved to drive and was very competitive behind the wheel. He watched Nascar and NHRA regularly and would occasionally rub his cars fenders on the coast highway guard rail just to see the sparks fly. Davey attended countless live concerts and was a true Rock and Roller.

Dave spent his later years up in Morro Bay CA. where he continued his love of surfing, dirt biking and snow skiing. He continued these sports well into his 60's and even played a game or two of golf and snooker. Davey passed on peacefully in the beautiful mountains of south-central New Mexico on Tuesday August 29, 2023. Davey Lewis is survived by his sweet Chocolate Lab, Teaka, and the many friends who loved him dearly.
