David Jordan

David Allen Jordan, 69, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 28, 2017. David was born in Cleburne, Texas on August 7, 1948 to J.D. and Nell Jordan, but grew up in the Abilene, Texas area. He enjoyed playing football for the Wylie High School Bulldogs and after graduation he attended Cisco Junior College where he received an Associate degree in Applied Science. He attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, Texas and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He later became an ordained minister.

David proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1968 thru 1971. After returning from Vietnam he worked in law enforcement. Having been called for years to the Gospel Ministry, he pastored churches from 1991 thru 1999. His last church being First Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs, NM.

David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and riding his bicycle. However, his greatest passion was talking to people about Jesus. He married his best friend, Sarah in 2000 and they enjoyed wonderful years together.
David is survived by his wife, Sarah; his son and daughter in law, Jay and Jonette; granddaughter, Julie and grandson, Jarrett all of College Station, Texas. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Jack and Margaret Vaughn of Ruidoso.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Ruidoso from 10:30 AM until 11:00 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Gavilan Memorial Garden Cemetery in Ruidoso.
