Darold Moorhead

Darold Wayne Moorhead, of Ruidoso Downs,  passed away June 6, 2020.  Darold was born October 10 1944 to Alpha and Melvin Moorhead in Kansas City, MO. Darold joined the United States Marine Corps in 1963 and served his country honorably for 4 years, including the Vietnam War.

Darold met Olivia in NM and they  were married in 1968.  They were married for 49 years, before her passing in 2017.  Together they worked hard and raised their children in Ruidoso, NM.

Darold is survived by his children, Dennis Moorhead and his fiancé, Catherine Hundley of North Carolina, Derek Moorhead and son Takoda Moorhead of Ruidoso, Maria Misquez and sons Brennon Moorhead and Ruben Misquez of Nogal, and Melanie Moorhead and sons Kyler and Garrett Ammons, of Ruidoso Downs.  He is also survived by his brother, Steve Moorhead of Missouri.

Darold is preceded in death by his mother, Alpha Clarkson, his step-father Andy Clarkson, and his wife and love of his life, Olivia Moorhead.

Our dad was known for his love of people and knowing how to make them smile.   We hope you think of him and smile and share a fond memory with us.

His funeral mass will be Saturday, June 13, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Eleanor Catholic Church.
