Dallas Dean Draper

Dallas Dean Draper, a cherished pillar of his community and an avid lover of life, left this world on October 1, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on August 11, 1966, Dallas embraced life with unwavering zeal, leaving behind a legacy woven from love, laughter, and a fierce dedication to his family and friends.

For eight years, Dallas served as a Lincoln County Commissioner, advocating for the needs of his community with integrity and compassion. His tenure was marked by a genuine commitment to uplift those around him, always prioritizing the welfare of his neighbors. He possessed a rare ability to make others feel seen and heard, and his mentorship fostered personal growth in many. Dallas believed firmly in the power of connection, manifesting this belief in every interaction he had, he never met a stranger.

At the heart of Dallas was a deep love for his family. His devotion to them was paramount, a guiding light that informed every decision he made. He was not only a dedicated husband to his beloved wife, Robyn, but also a proud influencer in the lives of a multitude of friends and loved ones who walked beside him in life’s journey. Above all else, Dallas was the most proud of his two sons. Jordan and Jaxon were everything to him and he was incredibly proud of all they have accomplished in life. They will, without a doubt, carry on the legacy of their father. 

Outside of his remarkable public service, Dallas found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An enthusiast of gourmet cooking, he delighted in whipping up sumptuous meals, particularly during the large holiday dinners he adored hosting. These were not just meals; they were jubilant gatherings filled with warmth, laughter, and shared stories, producing memories that lingered long after the plates were cleared.

Moreover, his adventurous spirit led him across the stunning landscapes of New Mexico, whether jeeping through rugged terrains or camping under the expansive starlit skies. Traveling with Robyn was a cherished pastime, their shared explorations deepening their bond and enriching their lives together.

Dallas was a storyteller at heart, capturing moments of life and imagination in the screenplays he wrote, reflective of his creative soul. A lifelong fan of the Raiders, Dallas wore his passion proudly, embodying the fervor of a true supporter whose cheers resonated deeply with each game.

His love for animals, especially his dogs and grand dogs, enriched his home, adding layers of unconditional love and joy. In their company, he found solace and playfulness, reinforcing the notion that family extends beyond those with whom we share blood.

Dallas is survived by his loving wife Robyn Draper; sons, Jordan Wright and wife Alexa, and Jaxon Draper; sister, Robyne Helena Draper; nieces, Jasmyne Rogers, Isabella Amezcua, and Paige Rogers; nephew, Lucas Rogers; father and mother in law, Ted and Candace Hursh. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Freda Draper, and his brother in law, Austin Hursh.

As we remember Dallas Dean Draper, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a life that was a manifestation of love, generosity, and community. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire and connect those who were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of Dallas's life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Ruidoso Convention Center.
