Cruszita Chavez

Cruzita Chavez 74 of Ruidoso Downs, NM went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 10, 2019. She was born on May 3, 1945 to Juan and Josephine Baca in Roswell, NM. She married Danny Chavez on January 27, 1973 in Reno NV. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her loving parents Juan and Josephine Baca, great niece Myria Ordorica, great nephew Benjamin Sanchez and her favorite fur babies Shadow and Hercules.

She is survived by her loving children: MP (Corina) Chavez, Gerald (Caterina) Chavez; and daughter: Myra (Rene) Carta, loving brothers: Greg Baca, Pete (Aimee) Baca, Larry (Bea) Baca, and sister Bobby Mendoza.
Grandchildren: Patrick & Destinee Chavez, Gabby & Ashley Chavez, Kristina & Matthew Carta. Great grandchildren: Eli, Remi, Serenity, and Jurney Chavez. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides being a wonderful and loving mother Cruzita was also a great jewelry maker, artist and seamstress. Many family and friends were blessed to receive the beautiful jewelry, rosarys and blankets created by Cruzita as gifts. She loved spending countless hours in her bead room designing works of art. There was never a task too large that she couldn't handle or tackle with pride.

Rosary services will be Friday May 17, 2019 at 9:30 A.M. with mass to follow at St. Eleanor's Church in Ruidoso, NM. Father Juan Carlos will officiate.

The family would like to send a big thank you to the rock and glue of the family, Uncle Pete and Aunt Aimee Baca for all the love, calls, concern, direction and prayers during the loss of our beloved Mother.
We would also like to thank special niece Priscilla McNutt for the many calls back and forth, stories, pictures, song selection and support. Special thanks also going out to David Montes for helping organize, arrange and set up all the different items needed for the services to run smoothly. And finally a big thanks to Danny Sisson for calling us while on vacation to help us through this very difficult and sad ordeal.
