Connie Behringer

June 15, 1933 — August 23, 2016

Connie Behringer was bora June 15,1933 in Coryell County, Texas, to A. B. & Irene Chitwood. She
graduated in 1951 from Klondike High School and went to Drawn's Business College in Lubbock, Texas.
After dating only three months, Connie married Jr. Behringer on April 11,1953 in Arkansas. He was
stationed at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri in the Army and left a month later to serve in Germany & France
during the Korean War. They had many adventures throughout their 63 years of marriage. Wherever they
lived, they made friends through their church, square dancing, bowling, playing Bridge, buying antiques,
going to rodeos and team roping, fishing and generally wheeling & dealing. They ended up in Ruidoso in
1975, opening Fisherman's Luck Catfish Restaurant. While Jr. later become a licensed Contractor, worked
for the city of Ruidoso as an Inspector; Connie had many different antique stores and flea markets,
including the Behr Barn.

Family was always an important part of their lives, and they instilled a true work ethic in their children.
They made life-long friendships, which continue to this day, and the last few years of Connie's life were
spent happily playing games with her dear girlfriends and going to brunches with them.
Connie was always very involved in church, as were her parents, and her relationship with the Lord was an
important part of her life. She raised her children in the church and that legacy is passed on through
generations.

As long-time members of the J Bar J Country Church, they helped the small fellowship grow into the
thriving ministry it is today, and have many special relationships there. Memorials may be made to the
church.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, A.B. & Irene Chitwood; close niece, Tracy Healey; and
sister-in-law, Betty Bynum Boyd.

She is survived by her husband, Jr. Behringer; Children: Tom & Donna Reed, Cindy Vannatta.
