Connie Behringer was bora June 15,1933 in Coryell County, Texas, to A. B. & Irene Chitwood. She
   
   graduated in 1951 from Klondike High School and went to Drawn's Business College in Lubbock, Texas.
   
   After dating only three months, Connie married Jr. Behringer on April 11,1953 in Arkansas. He was
   
   stationed at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri in the Army and left a month later to serve in Germany & France
   
   during the Korean War. They had many adventures throughout their 63 years of marriage. Wherever they
   
   lived, they made friends through their church, square dancing, bowling, playing Bridge, buying antiques,
   
   going to rodeos and team roping, fishing and generally wheeling & dealing. They ended up in Ruidoso in
   
   1975, opening Fisherman's Luck Catfish Restaurant. While Jr. later become a licensed Contractor, worked
   
   for the city of Ruidoso as an Inspector; Connie had many different antique stores and flea markets,
   
   including the Behr Barn.
   
   
   Family was always an important part of their lives, and they instilled a true work ethic in their children.
   
   They made life-long friendships, which continue to this day, and the last few years of Connie's life were
   
   spent happily playing games with her dear girlfriends and going to brunches with them.
   
   Connie was always very involved in church, as were her parents, and her relationship with the Lord was an
   
   important part of her life. She raised her children in the church and that legacy is passed on through
   
   generations.
   
   
   As long-time members of the J Bar J Country Church, they helped the small fellowship grow into the
   
   thriving ministry it is today, and have many special relationships there. Memorials may be made to the
   
   church.
   
   
   Connie was preceded in death by her parents, A.B. & Irene Chitwood; close niece, Tracy Healey; and
   
   sister-in-law, Betty Bynum Boyd.
   
   
   She is survived by her husband, Jr. Behringer; Children: Tom & Donna Reed, Cindy Vannatta.
   
   Grandchildren: Tommy & Mandy Vannatta; Travis Vannatta & fiance1 Audre Barton; Zach & Lacy Rogers;
   
   Trey & Delani Vannatta
   
   Great Grandchildren: Easton Vannatta, Ayden Rogers, Cason Vannatta.
   
   Her sister & brother-in-law, Glenn & LaDon Matthews; nephew & niece, Terry & Pat Matthews.
   
   
   The family would like to thank Dr. Benny Phillips and his staff in Lubbock, Texas for the years of loving care and kindness they provided throughout Connie's long illness.
   
   
   Visitation will be Friday, August 26, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the funeral service on Saturday, August 27, at 10:00 A.M. at the J Bar J Country Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
