Retired Sergeant Major Chris R. Williams, a dedicated military veteran, passed away on December 24, 2023, in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Born on December 31, 1950, Chris lived a fulfilling life as a compassionate individual who touched the lives of many.

Chris had an illustrious career in the military that spanned over three decades. With unwavering commitment and a deep sense of duty, he served his country in the United States Army. His dedication and selflessness were evident throughout his tenure, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and superiors alike.

Education played an integral role in Chris' life. He pursued knowledge with fervor and obtained a master's degree, demonstrating his passion for continuous learning and personal growth. Outside of his military service and academic pursuits, Chris found joy in various hobbies and interests. Working with leather gave him a creative outlet to express himself while also providing cherished gifts for his beloved family.

A man of honor and integrity, Chris valued family above all else. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and dedicated himself to their happiness and well-being. His warm presence brought joy to family gatherings, creating cherished memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Christine Williams; sons, Jonathan Williams, Jeremy Williams, Joshua Williams, and Jacob Williams; half-brothers, Gary Williams, John Douglas Fitzgerald, Denis Fitzgerald, Don Michael Pace, and Marc Stephen Pace; adopted sisters, Donna Sabia, and Debbie Bednorik; cousins, John and Gary Bartlett, Nancy Celavelo, and Freddy Younkins; and grandchildren, Damien, Jason, Jack, Hannah, and Finn. He is preceded in death by his adopted mother/aunt, Dorothy Virginia Younkins; adopted father/uncle, Reynold Dale Williams; biological mother, Frances Juanita Pace; biological father, James Russell Pace; and his beloved pet Buddy.

As friends and family come together to honor Chris' memory, a Funeral Service will be held on January 12, 2024. The service will take place at 1:00pm at LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso located at 341 Sudderth Dr in Ruidoso, New Mexico. 

Chris R. Williams will be remembered as a role model, a patriotic soldier, and a loving family man. His dedication to his country, thirst for knowledge, and unwavering love for his family serve as an inspiration to us all. May his soul find eternal peace as his memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
