In Loving Memory of Cheryl Ann Barber December 10, 1956 - October 7, 2026
A Life of Love, Service, and Strength
Cheryl Ann Barber was born on December 10, 1956, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Billy and Maxine Franklin. On October 7, 2026, she went to her Lord, leaving behind a family and community forever shaped by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert; her children Amanda Snow, William McMinn, and Robert Barber Jr.; six grandchildren; six great‑grandchildren; and a wide circle of family and friends who adored her.
After moving to Lincoln County in 2012, Cheryl poured her heart into serving her community. She was an active member of the Corriente Cowbells, Ruidoso Quilt Club, Capitan Women's Club, Republican Party of Lincoln County, and the Lincoln County Community Emergency Response Team. Her faith was lived out daily through her involvement in Nogal Community Church, where she encouraged, uplifted, and supported others with grace and joy.
Cheryl wore many hats and carried many names-Mom, Nana, friend, mentor, helper, and prayer warrior. She was the strength of her family, the one who showed up no matter the distance, and the one who made every person feel seen, loved, and valued. Her light continues to shine in the lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 8th starting at 2 pm. It will be held at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, Fletcher Hall Bldg. in Capitan. "Cheryl, be sweet and we will see you later."
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Corriente Cowbells.
