In Loving Memory of Charlie Mendez

Charlie Mendez was a man of remarkable faith, strength, kindness, and generosity. A cattleman at heart, Charlie believed in hard work and took great pride in sharing what he knew with others. He was always willing to teach anyone who wanted to learn, but one of the things he loved sharing most was the Word of God. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, and he was always willing to speak about the Lord with anyone willing to listen.

Charlie loved music and worship. He found great joy in playing his guitar, singing, and being a part of the church choir. His faith wasn't something he simply spoke about-it could be seen in the way he lived and in the way he treated others.

He had an extraordinarily giving heart. Charlie was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. If he saw someone standing on a street corner asking for money, he would give what he had, even if it was his last cent. If someone needed a ride, he would take them. If someone needed help, he found a way to help. He never needed recognition or anything in return. Giving to others was simply part of who Charlie was.

Charlie was also an incredibly strong man with a positive outlook on life. It seemed that very little could overwhelm or stress him. When those around him were worried, Charlie had a way of remaining steady. He could be the calm in any storm, offering strength and reassurance simply through his presence.

That strength stayed with Charlie throughout his final journey. He had an incredible will to live and fought with everything he had to remain with the people he loved for as long as he possibly could. His determination and courage were a reflection of the way he lived his entire life-with faith, hope, strength, and perseverance.

Charlie shared his life with his beloved wife, Olivia Mendez, and was a loving father to April Mendez, Jose Mendez, Ernie Mendez, Angelica Frias, Dominic Mendez, Sonya Morin, Rebeca Mendez, and Warren Mendez. He was also a proud and loving Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and Great uncle to all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews cherishing each of them deeply and holding a special place in his heart for every one of them. His family was blessed to know the strength of his love, the comfort of his presence, and the example he set throughout his life.

Charlie's legacy cannot be measured simply by the years he lived. It lives in the lessons he taught, the people he helped, the songs he sang, the music he played, the faith he shared, and the family he loved so deeply.

Although saying goodbye leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express, there is comfort in knowing how deeply Charlie loved God. The faith he spent his life sharing with others now gives us hope that he has been called home to the Lord he loved and served so faithfully.

His life was a blessing.

His strength was an example.

His generosity was a gift.

His faith was an inspiration.

And being loved by him was one of the greatest gifts our family could have ever received.

Charlie will forever be our husband, our dad, our grandpa, our great-grandpa, our teacher, our brother, our friend, and our calm in every storm. His love and the lessons he left behind will remain in our hearts for generations to come.
