Billy Yates

Bill Yates, 81, of Ruidoso, NM, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early on Saturday morning, March 29, 2014. He was born on June 21, 1932 in Roy, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin Yates, Henry Morgan Stepfather and Jewell Edith Collum his son, Mark Yates his brothers, Tommy Yates and Bud Morgan and sister, Mary Ethel Dennison. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ingrid Yates and his children Julie Burke and husband Alby, Karin Hamilton and husband Charlie his brothers Shorty Yates and Pat Morgan. Bill had seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

He graduated from Albuquerque High School and immediately went to work for Sandia National Laboratories as a mechanical engineer. He retired after 35 years of service and moved to Ruidoso, NM.

He was a faithful member of Grace Harvest Church where he served as an elder, pastor and business manager for nearly 30 years.

Bill was deeply loved and respected by his family, friends, church family and community. He will be missed

Memorial services will be held at Grace Harvest Church, 806 Gavilan Canyon Rd., on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

The family has requested that you give to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
