Beverly Jane Holt died 7 July 2023 in Ruidoso, NM after a beautiful life filled with many friends, a big family and great memories. She was born 19 Jan 1939 as the youngest daughter to John and Mildred DeBolt whom at the time were living in Decatur, Indiana. Beverly had five brothers Eldred, Chuck, Roger, Jack and Jimmy. While living in Riverdale, North Dakota she met the new town arrival, Jimmie C. Holt. After high school they were married and went to the University of North Dakota. After graduating Nursing School they had their first daughter Cheryl NS followed by Ranee. Beverly and Jim followed the aerospace and computer industry from California to Texas where they had their remaining children; Robbie and Jeff. She is the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jennifer, Nikolas, Mitchell, Matthew, Gabriel, Anna, Jacob and Sydnee. She is also the great grandmother to Holly and Benjamin. She was known to be a lover of her family, coffee and sweets.
Her passion was to take care of people and give gifts. She spent her time in Ruidoso with her husband/best friend Jim volunteering for the High Mountain Youth Project. Beverly was the not only the religious anchorite, but also the hardest working and most resilient woman known to her family. Her favorite job was as the administrator of a nursing home in Dallas and subsequent expert witness work in that field. She struggled against time and debilitating back injuries to walk throughout her life to be amongst the people in which she cared.
Her favorite place to live was Ruidoso, NM. Her favorite car was a 1986 custom Chevrolet Van and her favorite vacation spot was Hawaii. Her favorite song was the Entertainer. She leaves behind fond memories of her friends that preceded her in death and hopes to spark up a good game of cards in heaven while enjoying endless guilt free desserts. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, 13 July 2023 at 12:00 in St. Eleanor Catholic Church, Ruidoso, NM. There will be a reception to follow at the Methodist Church across the parking lot from St. Elenor’s.
In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the High Mountain Youth Group in Ruidoso NM.
