Bella Killingbeck

Bella Candelaria Killingbeck, 93, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, April 10, 2017 in Rio Rancho, N.M.
She was born in Carrizozo, N.M. on May 5, 1923, she was a decedent of the Spanish settlers that came down from the Manzano Mountains and settled in Patos and Reventon, a small settlement around the White Oaks area. Her parents were Jose Candelaria and Manuelita Lueras Candelaria.

She met her husband, Walter Killingbeck in the 1960's and later married in 1975. She was a beautiful woman with a warm smile and witty way always joking.

She was a catholic and a member of Santa Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo. She enjoyed socializing with friends and relatives, which she made a lot of true friends over the years especially because she enjoyed going to Bingo. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center and working on puzzles and socializing with all her friends there. She loved going to her grandkids games at school. She loved her family, her brothers, sisters, and all her grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids and friends.
Bella was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Manuelita Candelaria; son, Michael Barela Sr.; brothers, Lloyd, Tito and Joe Candelaria Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Killingbeck; four daughters, Virginia Carabajal and her husband Manuel of Carrizozo, Irene Otero and her husband Gabriel of Alamogordo, Josephine Barela of Carrizozo and Marie Griego and her husband Paul of Albuquerque; two sons, Gilbert Barela and his wife, Gwen of Carrizozo and Marcus Barela Jr. of Carrizozo; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Baca of Deerfield, Kansas and Lupita Brewer of Kileen, Texas.

The Rosary will be Tuesday, April 18, at 10:00 A.M. at Santa Rita Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. with the burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carrizozo.
