It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved Beatrice Grace Silva, who left this world peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Gomez; her brothers, Willie Gomez and Johnny Gomez; and her grandson, Jeremy Gonzales.
Beatrice is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Henry Silva, and their devoted children: daughter Beverly Silva, daughter Deberly Dorame and husband Frank, son Tommy Silva and wife Patty, son Greg Silva and wife Rhonda, son Rusty Silva and wife Abby, and son Toby Silva and wife Anjie. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and the cherished great-grandmother of 27 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings: sisters Amelia Candelaria, Rita Herrera, Priscilla Torrez, and Lydia Moreno, and brother Leroy Gomez -as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, all of whom she loved deeply.
Beatrice lived a life full of grace, creativity, and quiet strength. In her younger years, she was crowned Hondo Fiesta Queen, and later in life, carried on the tradition and shared her talents as a seamstress by making fiesta dresses for her family and other dancers in the community. A talented musician, she played the clarinet beautifully and was once voted Band Queen, a reflection of both her talent and vibrant spirit.
She was a devoted Lobos basketball fan, always cheering loudly from home, and found great joy in scrapbooking, crafting, and creating thoughtful handmade cards. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, known for her famous biscochitos and her always-homemade (even when store-bought) tortillas.
Known for her sharp memory and love of journaling, Beatrice kept memo books, writing down everything-big or small-with care. It was her quiet way of honoring the stories of her family and her life.
Beatrice will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving heart, and deep devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured, inspired, and so deeply cherished.
If you would like to honor her, we invite you to wear yellow-her favorite color-to the service, or if you would like to send flowers, please order through Blossoms Floral Artistry and Design in Ruidoso.
