Aron Portio

Aron Y. Portio, 84, long time resident of Carrizozo New Mexico entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2016. Aron was born in Lincoln, New Mexico . After school he joined the Army in 1952 and returned home in 1954 he worked at Holloman Air Force Base and retired in 1987. Mr. Portio was married to his wife Isabel on July 5, 1952. They were married for 64 years and had nine children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Portio and mother, Julianita Ybarra Portio; his wife, Isabel Lueras Portio; a son, Robert Portio; and daughter Kathleen Wheeler.

Mr. Portio is survived by his children, Rosalie Portio of Las Cruces, Dorothy O'Brien and husband Edward of Albuquerque, Julie Scott of Albuquerque, Joe Portio and wife Angelica of Belen, Mary Mora and husband Gilbert, Jimmy Portillo and Jennifer, Sharon Vigil and husband Rick of Carrizozo and Clarence Beltran Jr. and wife Renee of Carrizozo; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild; a sister Lita Padilla of Alamogordo.
Rosary services will be held Saturday July 30th 9:00 AM at Saint Rita Catholic Church in Carrizozo and funeral mass to follow immediately.
