Amos Rue

Amos Rue, 78, of Ruidoso passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home in Ruidoso. He was born May 20, 1936 at Arabela, New Mexico and had lived in Lincoln County all of his life. As a young man he became a sheep shearer working in all parts of Lincoln County. He then became a Culligan Man in Alamogordo, worked as a custodian at Ruidoso Middle School, worked in many of the local restaurants and was a truck driver for Sierra Blanca Motors. He attended St. Eleanor's Catholic Church. He married Lupe Ortega on June 15, 1957 at Roswell.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife for 58 years, Lupe; children, Fermin Rue and wife Lynn, Josephine Rue and Joseph Rue and friend Kim; eleven grandchildren, Julian Rue, Joshua Rue, Jevin Rue, Marissa Rue, Melody Rue, Nikki James, Sean Rankin, Nickolas Rue, Brittney Skinner and her husband Jacob, Joseph Rue Jr. and Jennifer Rue; 17 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Irene Rodriguez, Toby Rue, Richard Rue and Luis Rue; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a simple down to Earth Man who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Saturday, May 16, at 10:00 AM in the Hondo Cemetery.
