Amelia Cruz Trujillo entered Eternal Life on August 30, 2021. Her daughter and son were with her. Amelia was born on December 9, 1941, in Lordsburg, New Mexico and was raised in San Pedro, California before making the beautiful San Patricio valley her home for 55 years.
Amelia had many friends in this little valley and enjoyed making apple pie and entering them in contests...winning several ribbons for her efforts. Amelia was very active in her community. She served as St. Jude coordinator for many years...also taught Catechism and served as a reader and Eucharistic minister.
Amelia was a valued employee of Gibson’s of Ruidoso for many years until its closing. Amelia was an employee of Wal Mart for 28 years...she enjoyed helping customers and made many longtime friendships at Gibson’s and Wal Mart. Amelia participated in many fundraisers for the Children’s Miracle network by making and selling freshly made sopapillas always selling out.
Amelia is survived by her daughter, Dina Trujillo Ortega; sons, Anthony Trujillo, Bone Trujillo, and Mario Trujillo. She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Cruz Montelongo and Corina Cruz Trujillo. Amelia is blessed by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Josephine Portillo Cruz, brothers, Luis Cruz, Agapito Cruz, Manuel Cruz and Christbal Cruz.

Memorial service will be Monday, November 8, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. with Rosary, Mass and Interment immediately following at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in San Patricio, New Mexico with a luncheon to follow.
