Alan Campbell

May 28, 1958 — January 29, 2008

Alan C. Campbell of Ruidoso, NM passed in his sleep early Tuesday morning Jan 29th with his loving wife Gail at his side. This was the end of a 6 year battle with cancer.
Alan was born on May 28th 1958 in El Paso, TX. Alan was a graduate of Ruidoso high school where he was an accomplished member of The Ruidoso Ski Team. Alan lived in Ruidoso, Hawaii, Mexico, and Colorado. His adventures ranged from bull riding and horse training to the steel industry and beyond. In recent years he became an entrepreneur as owner of Club Gas and Club House Lounge.
Alan was a born adventurer in mind and spirit, but those who really knew him will remember him as being the adventure. In his every step on his path through life, Alan left a trail of love and admiration. An unpredictable man, he had a remarkable way of turning up at the exact moment he was needed to guide loved ones through anything. Countless people carry the tales of Alan getting them out of a tight spot even in some cases where he may have actually helped them to get into it.

Alan C. Campbell never met a stranger. Nothing brought Alan more joy and pride than the relationships he developed with his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, grandparents, nephews, and friends. There were so many who experienced the wonder of his boundless compassion and unconditional love. Alan revered all of these wonderful relationships, but most of all his family, as being his greatest accomplishment in his life.

He was preceded in death by his father Gerald K. Campbell, mother Barbara Joy Barnes, sister Karen K. McRae, and cherished friend Clifford Deaton.

Alan is survived by his wife Gail Campbell, son Shane Barnett and his wife Heidi, daughter Crystal Barnett and partner Will Green, grandchildren Payton Barnett, Skylar Barnett, Jonas Barnett, and Liam Green, sister Kathryn Reese and her husband Rick, mother-in-law JoAnn Barnett, father-in-law Tom Barrett, brothers-in-law Cooper Barnett, Scott Barnett and Tom McRae, and nephews Ryan Reese and WT McRae.
