Ada Carpenter

September 7, 1915 — March 15, 2007

Mrs. Capenter passed away Thursday, March 15, at her home, she was born September 7, 1915 at Mill Creek, Oklahoma to Lula and Wallace Payne. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs from 1950 until 1973, she moved to Farmington in 1975 and lived there until moving back to Ruidoso Downs in 1997. She was devoted to her family and friends by caring for them. She loved to make quilts and afagans, play the piano and sing. She married Charlie Carpenter in 1932 at Quitaque, Texas and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1973. She is survived by her children, Betty Efurd and her husband Carl of Ruidoso Downs, Jim Carpenter and his wife Cindy of Ruidoso, and Debbie Behringer and her husband Harry of Spring, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
