Annette Marie Hammond Wallace, 70, passed this life on Thursday, May 23, 2019. She was born May 21, 1949 in Houston, Texas to Walter Douglas and Margie Marie (Marsac) Hammond. She graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1967 in Houston and attended Blinn College. She was a flight attendant for Continental Airlines and took her mother to Greece and Italy.

For many years, she worked for the Wetzel Insurance Company. On February 14, 1989 she married Jon Wallace in Vail, Colorado. A few years later, they bought the Track & Ski Lodge in Alto, New Mexico and ran it for five years. They were divorced in 2012. She worked for the newspaper and then went to work for the City of Ruidoso Downs from which she retired in 2014.

Annette was a kind and loving person who enjoyed her family, her many friends and her three cats. She loved fresh seafood and was a very good cook. She enjoyed spending Christmas and summer vacation with her family as well as sharing activities with her many friends in Ruidoso, including playing Mexican Train, travelling, and participating in the activities of First Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs.

She is survived by one sister, Darnell Dingle (Ron) of Lubbock, TX; two nieces, Laura Abbott of Midland, TX and Amy Stoesser and her children, Henry and Vivian of Lubbock, TX; a bonus niece, Delronda Boyd (Richard) and their children, Nathaniel, Cori and Andrew of Oklahoma City, OK and four cousins, all of Houston, Texas. She leaves behind many friends and her three cats to mourn her passing.

Her funeral service will be Friday, May 31, 2019, at 2:30 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs, NM.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Lincoln County.
