ERNEST SILVA WAS BORN ON FEBRUARY 15, 1939 IN GLENCOE, NEW MEXICO TO ERNESTO SANCHEZ SILVA AND GENEVA GONZALES SILVA . HE LIVED IN LINCOLN COUNTY ALL HIS LIFE. HE GRADUATED FROM HONDO SCHOOLS IN 1957, HE WAS FIESTA KING TWO YEARS IN A ROW AT THE HONDO FIESTA'S. HE WORKED MOST OF HIS LIFE AS A BOBTAIL TRUCK DRIVER DELIVERING PROPANE THROUGH OUT LINCOLN COUNTY. MOST PEOPLE KNEW HIM AS THE GAS MAN.HE LOVED TO HUNT AND HE LOVED TO GO HORSEBACK RIDING. HE ALSO LOVED SPENDING TIME ON THE FAMILY HOMESTEAD RAISING MOSTLY APPLES, SOME PLUMS AND HUGE VEGETABLE GARDENS. IN 1961 HE WAS ABLE TO GET THE BEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD TO MARRY HIM.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE ERMINDA SANCHEZ SILVA; TWO DAUGHTERS, CINDY NORRIS AND HER HUSBAND MIKE OF ROSWELL, LORINDA WILKES AND HUSBAND ROB OF DURHAM, MAINE; TWO BROTHERS, GARY SILVA AND WIFE CYNTHIA OF GLENCOE AND JAMES SILVA AND WIFE ANNA OF CAPITAN; TWO SISTERS JOSIE GOMEZ AND HUS BAND WILLIE OF SAN PATRICIO, JESUSITA MANY GOATS AND HUSBAND TOMMY OF ALAMOGORDO; ERNEST AND MINNIE HAVE 16 GRAND CHILDREN AND14 GREAT GRAND CHILDREN.
A PRIVATE BURIAL WILL BE HELD FOR HIS IMMEDIATE FAMILY.
PLEASE JOIN US SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3,2018 AT 1:00 P.M. FOR A CELEBRATION OF ERNEST LIFE TO BE HELD AT SAINT JUDE CENTER IN SAN PATRICIO, NM.
