His passion in life was helping the youth in all aspects of life, whether it be teaching them music, sports, or just to lend a listening ear.

Waylon was born on April 3, 1978 in Hamlin, Texas to Ben and Betty Wilcox. He is survived by his parents, Ben and Betty Wilcox of Capitan, New Mexico, a sister, Christi Patton and her husband Jerry Patton of Odessa, Texas, and a sister, Valari Bartlett of Capitan,New Mexico, He is also survived by the loves of his life, his nephews and nieces, Caleb Wilcox, Jacob Wilcox, Ashton Sibley, Mikey Hamm, Jaeden Wilcox, Daisha Patton, and Isaiah Patton, and his great nieces Chambri Wilcox and Anais Wilcox and his great nephew Zico Wilcox.
