Theodore Feild Morton III

Theodore Morton (Teddy) passed away peacefully in the comforting presence of family on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Alto, NM. He was born November 11, 1958 in Fort Worth, Texas and was a descendent of several pioneer families. His great-great grandfather was Julian Feild, Fort Worth's first Postmaster and founder of the Masonic Lodge in Ft. Worth.

He lived all his life in Fort Worth. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School, and while attending TCU, he followed in his father's footsteps working in the family jewelry business, Haltom's Jewelers. Later he ventured into the ranching business with an old friend in central Texas.

Teddy was a "jack-of-all-trades". He was interesting, entertaining, had a wonderful sense of humor, loved his many friends and "spun great tales"!

Teddy was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Feild Morton, jr. He is survived by his mother, June Neighbors Morton McAllister, Alto, NM; his brother, Edwin Neighbors Morton and his wife, Christina, Paso Robles, CA; his sister, Julia Cara and her husband, Robert Trujillo, Black Lake, NM ; and his step-sister, Roberta McAllister, Fort Worth. Aunt, Pat Neighbors, Santa Maria, CA; and cousins, Will Huber, Brett and Collin Neighbors.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 1:00 P.M., at the gravesite, in Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas. The services will be officiated by The Right Reverend Sam Hulsey.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Ted's name to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 101 Sutton Dr., Ruidoso NM, or Encompass Home Care and Hospice, 1096 Mechem Dr. Ste. 302, Ruidoso NM.
